Sports Massage
Sports Massage Therapy is a system based on an in-depth knowledge of surface anatomy and physiology, along with an understanding of the physical demands of various sports and activities place upon the body. Treatment involves the application of specific techniques to assess and manipulate the soft tissues of the body, in order to prevent or rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries.
By palpitation, the therapist is able to locate, identify and treat areas of specific tensions within the tissues that could lead to potential injury sites.
Adapted to individual needs it is not just beneficial to athletes but to anyone suffering from aches and pains, brought about through repetitive movement at work or, more commonly, poor posture. It can greatly alleviate the build of aches and pains that are often ignored or suppressed through medication and thereby reduce the risk of further, more serious injury.
